Self-Defense Class- Students Grades 5-10
This empowering 90-minute class is designed to help students in grades 5–10 build confidence, self-control, and personal safety skills in a supportive and age-appropriate environment. Students will learn practical strategies for handling bullying situations, including how to stay calm under pressure, use assertive communication, and make safe, smart choices when faced with conflict.
The class emphasizes awareness of surroundings, recognizing potentially unsafe situations, and understanding when and how to seek help from trusted adults. Basic self-defense concepts will be introduced with a strong focus on prevention, de-escalation, and self-control rather than aggression.
Through guided activities and real-life scenarios, students will gain tools to protect themselves emotionally and physically, develop respect for others, and build confidence both in and out of school. (Parental observation is welcome.) Please dress comfortably and make sure your student has had dinner prior to arrival.
